THE
IDEAL STUDENT
All students are required to abide by the
rules and guidelines set forth by the Dojo. There are unwritten
rules - a code of ethics that make a serious, diligent student stand out amongst
others. The following is a brief list
of what type of behavior constitute an ideal student:
- Showing up to class on time, and calling
if you must be late or cancel.
- Helping other Dojo members, whether new
or old, with their training.
- Showing courtesy to classmates, and
paying strict attention to the instructor during class time.
- Assisting the instructor by helping the
organization grow stronger suggesting methods on how to help the Dojo
expand.
- Trying hard at class, and not giving up
on difficult training exercises; understanding learning new things
takes time and patience.
- Accepting the current curriculum,
respecting the teacher and the art knowing that whatever is asked of
you will only help you in becoming a proficient martial artist.
- Never to slander the Dojo, its teachers,
or fellow classmates, in any way, as this would cause you to
"lose face".
- Taking full advantage of training
sessions, and obtaining materials, and information from the instructor
whenever possible.
- Promoting the Dojo and its instructor in
a positive manner, realizing that your actions outside of the Dojo are
relative to the group.
- Studying the history, culture, and
sciences of the Bujinkan arts whenever possible, realizing that Budo
Taijutsu
can help you in many ways other than fighting.
- Partaking in as many training
opportunities as possible, and supporting the Dojo by promoting them.
- Retaining a strong desire to improve
yourself and the world and conscientiously working toward that goal.
